Class B Hazmat Route Driver

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Class “B” Hazmat Driver is responsible for the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste via a box truck, or other Class B vehicles while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT), hazardous waste and safety rules and regulations. This position requires an individual who is committed to superior customer service and possesses strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. The ability to react to a fast-paced environment is required, in addition to excellent organization and time management skills.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements
  • 1 - 2 Year Hazmat Transportation Experience
  • Possess Class “B” CDL Hazmat License
  • Possess Class “A” CDL Hazmat License with tanker endorsement (Not required, but preferred)
  • Able to work with little if no direct supervision and an aptitude to complete assigned work • Strong mechanical ability
  • Able to make real-time decisions in the field
  • Clean Driving record
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Ensure proper loading, segregation and unloading of hazardous wastes and non-hazardous wastes.
  • Responsible for the proper placarding of vehicle to meet (DOT) rules and regulations
  • Responsible for maintaining electronic daily logs, worksheets, timecard, expense reports, dispatch & trip reports and vehicle inspection reports.
  • Comply with all Company policies & procedures, health & safety policies and procedures, (DOT) rules and regulations, Federal hazardous materials/waste rules and regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with coordinators or managers regarding schedules
  • Maintain a professional appearance (by wearing company supplied uniforms which are required, per Company policy) and courteous demeanor with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain and clean assigned Company equipment as well as ensure equipment is mechanically sound and in good working order.
  • Responsible for keeping your training record up to date with all DOT/OSHA and Company required training.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Enviro-Safe’s business.
  • Ability to use a mobile handheld or laptop computer

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Primarily assist in warehouse operations consisting of loading and unloading trucks, bulking or consolidation of compatible liquids and solids, and keeping inventory of inbound materials
  • Assist in the management of hazardous and chemical waste programs for clients onsite following Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other state and federal government agencies’ regulations
  • Sampling, profiling, characterize, consolidate, pack, and ship hazardous waste for clients per RCRA and DOT regulations
  • Train clients on proper chemical safety and hazardous waste management
  • Perform and document environmental health and safety audits for clients in their facilities and laboratories using Enviro-Safe’s programs
  • Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations as well as Enviro-Safe’s Health and Safety Practices

CDL Class A HAZMAT / Tank Truck

In this role, you'll make a difference at this growing company and not looked upon as a number. This position is an extension of our customer service program, integral part of our transportation team and overall part of our business success.
This position will be responsible for safely transporting bulk liquid materials from customers to the appropriate receiving facility. A new 2019 International LT 625 tractor trailer will be assigned to the driver. Primary daily tasks include transporting materials as directed, completion and/or review of manifest, bill-of-ladings or other shipping paperwork associated with the load for accuracy prior to transportation and operating the vehicle in accordance to regulations set forth by the DOT, EPA and State. Support effective communication with all departments within the organization where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the organization. Perform related or other duties as assigned.
Strong candidates will have a clean driving record, experience operating a vacuum tanker, working knowledge of DOT/RCRA regulations, and good communication and organizational skills. This position would be both for local runs and over the road locations within the Midwest region. Overnight travel typically would be limited to 2 nights per week.
