Laboratory Technician

Enviro-Safe Resource Recovery (Enviro-Safe) is a fully licensed hazardous waste treatment, storage, and recycling/disposal facility (TSDF). As leaders in environmental sustainability programs and waste management solutions, we are seeking a laboratory technician that wants to be part of a fast-growing company with opportunities for advancement. The right individual would possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, good chemistry knowledge and be a team player that is self-motivated with good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges. As a growing family-owned business, this entry/mid-level position offers multiple job responsibilities to become a well-rounded and cross-trained employee whose skill set can lead to either technical service, including profiling and approvals, operational management positions or sales for the top candidate.


Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in chemistry or related discipline required.
  • 2 or more years’ experience working in waste, chemical or related facility (preferred).
  • Comfortable working with and around hazardous materials/waste.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, as well as, an individual.
  • OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper trained (preferred).
     

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate and execute daily processing of received waste stream samples and testing.
  • Conduct compatibility sampling and testing for processing and treatment of waste.
  • Coordinate the execute sampling and testing of outbound waste.
  • Conduct daily laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance and operations.
  • Provide customer support as requested.
  • Assist in the documentation and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards to maintain compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.

Maintain standard operation procedures and work instructions for functions/activities under area of responsibility.
